People often speak of orchestral sounds with the same words that describe textures and colors. Music itself is not 'seen' but the feelings produced often remind us of things we see and touch. A clarinet can be 'soft, warm, dark or woody.' A trumpet might be 'bright, brilliant, sharp or majestic.' Strings portray many different images and colors that may be 'rich, smooth, clear, cold or romantic.' An orchestra with added electronic instruments pushes more modern emotional buttons than orchestras-past. The almost limitless variety of new sounds is not restricted to the cold and mechanical. On this album, a deep wooly (electronically produced) sub-bass is often heard, reaching into dramatic memories.
Whatever colors you see, or textures you feel when hearing these pieces, close
your eyes and enjoy many journeys. Each one may bring dark and light, slow and
fast, warm and cold. The video below of the title track is just an introduction.
The rest is for your imagination.
